A friend of mine just entered the blogging world, so i wrote her a short poem so she'd know just what she was getting into....
ODE TO BLOGGING
If blogging is what you had in mind,
you should beware of what you'll find.
All thoughts of laundry, mopping, sewing -
feeding kids, despite the fits they're throwing.
All these things you once endured,
will become a part of the past with each typed word.
Soon all you're thinking about are posts to come.
What comments are made and who they're from.
It's 10pm, 11pm, or 2 in the morning.
You find yourself blogging while others are snoring.
But that's ok, because what matters most -
Is satisfying all those waiting for your next post.

So are we to be wrangling
for the blogger title dangling
on the lips of those who read this fare:
Poet Extraordinaire?!
what carrie is trying to say is rhyming is her thing...back off hoochie mamma! :-) (I loved your poem by the way and really do want one written just for me-perhaps you and carrie could both write me poems and i'll name the Poet Extraordinaire.)
A Poet Extraordinaire?
Such a contest could not be fair.
One has natural talent, indeed-
The other simply fulfilling her blogging need.
Unfairly, she was called a hoochie mamma,
But in a contest of versus - there's no need for such drama.
A quick whit, a verse or two and it is done -
The Poet Extraordinaire she will become.
Well written. Now I know where Noah gets it from, his very talented mother.
